Power banks and spare batteries Loose or spare batteries, power banks, e-cigarettes, e-pipes and other personal vaporisers must be placed into your cabin-baggage or kept in your pocket or purse, individually protected. For safety reasons, these items are strictly not allowed in your checked baggage.
You are allowed to carry a maximum of 10 loose or spare batteries, including power banks.
For your electronic devices or spare batteries, the output of Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries must not exceed 100 Watt-hours; the metal content in Lithium-metal batteries must not exceed 2 grams.
For your safety, the use of power banks on board any of our aircraft is strictly prohibited. This includes charging the power bank on board or using it to charge a device.
Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) You may carry up to 15 electronic devices (including a laptop, tablet, e-reader, mobile phone or medical device) on your flight with us, in both your cabin or checked baggage. Any device in checked baggage must be completely switched off (i.e. not in sleep or hibernation mode) and protected from damage.
Televisions You can carry a TV as part of your checked baggage allowance. You will be charged an oversized baggage fee if the TV dimensions are 32 inches or above for flights to or from the US and Canada, or 40 inches or above for flights to or from all other destinations.
Drones You can carry your drone as part of your cabin baggage allowance, but there are a few things to keep in mind:
You are permitted to carry two spare lithium batteries as part of your cabin baggage allowance, with a power rating of 100Wh or less
Apple MacBook Pro recall Following a safety recall of certain models, all Apple MacBook Pro laptops are only permitted as cabin baggage and cannot be carried within your checked baggage. If your laptop has been recalled, it must remain powered off throughout the flight and cannot be charged on board.

Important If any device you are carrying is damaged, hot, produces smoke, is lost or falls into the seat, please inform our cabin crew immediately. Do not try to operate or move the seat as this may damage your device.
Small musical instruments that fit within our standard cabin baggage dimensions are permitted on board for free, as part of your cabin baggage allowance.
Instruments that exceed the cabin baggage weight or dimensions can be carried as part of your checked baggage allowance or as extra baggage. You may also purchase an additional seat to carry larger instruments inside the cabin.
If you’re carrying a musical instrument as checked baggage, it must be safely packed, weigh no more than 32kg and not exceed the maximum dimension of 300cm.

You may use and carry a walking stick, collapsible crutches, prosthetic aids or braces in addition to your standard cabin allowance. Please ensure you advise us of any special service requests at least 24 hours before your flight.
Pets are not permitted in our aircraft cabins. Our Etihad Cargo team can take care of the transportation of your pets, horses and other animals.
Service animals Guide dogs and service animals are permitted in the cargo hold for free as part of your checked baggage allowance. All other pets must be transported as manifested cargo. Regulations may vary depending on where you are flying from, so it’s always better to check well in advance. To avoid any delays at the airport, please make sure that you have the correct permits and documentation for your pet to travel.
Falcons Falcons are permitted on board for free as part of your cabin baggage allowance. You can also transport your falcon as checked baggage. This costs USD 500 per cage.
In First or Business you’re permitted to carry two falcons per person, or three falcons per additional seat. In Economy, you’re permitted to carry one falcon per person, or two falcons per additional seat. To avoid any delays at the airport, please make sure that you have the correct permits and documentation for your falcon to travel.

All extra baggage payments are non-refundable. If you’re flying to or from the US or Canada, you can only book one extra bag of up to 23kg online. If you need to take even more baggage, you can pay to take up to 32kg by phoning our Contact Centre 48 hours before your flight to receive a 10% discount. Alternatively, pay for your extra baggage at the airport.
You can check in as many bags as you like as long the total weight is within your baggage allowance. If you are flying in Economy to the US or Canada, you can check in two bags weighing up to 23kg each. Excess baggage fees will apply if either bag weighs more than 23kg. Not always. You may need to pick up your bag and check it in again, depending on the route and country you are travelling through. Your agent can confirm when you check in at the airport.
Please let us know that your baggage has not arrived before you leave the airport. We’ll give you a Property Irregularity Report (PIR), which you’ll need to track your bags, to organise a delivery or to make a claim in the future.

You can carry up to 5 litres of Zamzam water for free in addition to your checked baggage allowance. It must be safely packed and labelled in a sealed plastic container, covered by a protective cardboard box. These are widely available at pilgrimage sites. You may also carry up to 100ml of Zamzam water within your cabin baggage. It must be carried in a transparent, re-sealable plastic container or bag. It is not possible to pay to carry more Zamzam water as extra baggage.

We recommend that you carry your wedding dress as part of your cabin baggage. You can do this for free as long as you stay within your cabin baggage allowance and our maximum cabin baggage dimensions. Otherwise, you can pack your wedding outfit as part of your checked baggage allowance.
On long haul flights, ask your cabin crew if there’s space to hang your wedding dress and they’ll do their best to help. We have very limited hanging space on board, so we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to hang your dress before your flight.
Your baggage allowance may differ on flights operated by our partner airlines. You’ll find your baggage allowance for each part of your journey on your ticket.
If your trip starts or ends in the US, the first airline you fly with will determine the baggage rules that apply for your entire trip; either their own baggage policy or that of the Most Significant Carrier – this is usually the airline operating the longest part of the journey. For instance, if you are flying with Airline X from the US to Abu Dhabi, and from Abu Dhabi to another destination with Etihad Airways, Airline X will determine your baggage allowance and rules.

Yes. You may carry up to 100ml of hand sanitiser in your cabin baggage on board, or up to a total of 2l in your checked baggage. If you are carrying hand sanitiser in your checked baggage, each container must not exceed 500ml.
On board, you’ll also receive a complimentary wellness kit which includes hand sanitiser, as well as a face mask and gloves.
The maximum allowed capacity of gels and liquids that you can carry on board may vary by country and carrier, so always check in advance before you travel.
